After A 4 year hiatus, rapper Prince Kyy gives us the beginning of his Journey, his trials, and his downfalls.
From the first few moments there is a scene set. Raw personal and powerful The Calm is more of an interaction with the listener than a mixtape. Prince Kyy invites you into his world and doesn’t give any time to think about leaving. His subtle lyricism and attention-grabbing flow, which seems to switch up without a moment’s notice, allow Kyy to create amazing imagery. Coupled with bass heavy melodic production throughout the project, there is a clearly established mood for the audience to settle into. There is a deliberacy that any music lover will undoubtedly appreciate. Each track stands tall on its own. None more dominant than the next, every song demands to be heard. The Calm is an eerie introduction and through music selection, writing and arrangement clearly defines Prince Kyy as a versatile and authentic artists.
